Happy Halloween!

Kelly had a fun-packed Halloween. I snapped some pics before we went to Grandma's house just in case the cute little outfit got ruined before I could take anymore ;):

Amazingly enough, the outfit was still rather unscathed by the time Kelly came to my work's Halloween party (thanks, Grandma!). There she got to play with 3 other Bode babies:

Aiden, Kelly's beau (3 months);

Charlotte, Kelly's oldest baby friend (15 months!) ;);

and Caroline (7 months), the closest baby in age to Kelly. Kelly actually got a little rough with Caroline, but fortunately Caroline was very good natured and easy going about everything! Even when Kelly had two handfuls of hair and was pulling with all her might, Caroline barely wimpered. I can't even do that!

"Scooters, Crawlers, and Movers" Playgroup

Today we went to a "Scooters, Crawlers, and Movers" playgroup through the Working Moms of Northern Virginia meetup group. I think the name is so funny, and as you can see from the second picture, that's really what these guys are! Kelly got to hang out with 3 boys, definitely an unusual situation for her since the vast majority of her baby friends are girls!

Playing with Kayla

Further reinforcing what we confirmed at the doctor today (that Kelly is no longer a "tall" baby):

Granted, Kayla is almost 2 months older than Kelly and pretty much off the charts in height, but there is definitely a significant difference here.

Our Little Devil

(That's what her outfit says) ;)

Nine Months In, Nine Months Out

Kelly had her 9 month checkup today. She is doing great, however she
is no longer almost 80th percentile for both height and weight. She was
19 lb. 2 oz. (58th percentile) and 26.5 in. long (43th percentile). The doctor said she's right at the point where genetics start taking over... hmmm... I guess it had to happen sometime ;)

[I also think the length measurements of Kelly have always been a little off, from her birth length (too short!) to her 6 month measurement (she only grew 0.25 inches in the last 3 months?). Today she was measured two times (once they realized that the first one would have meant she shrunk) and the measurements differed by a full inch.]

Standing Up (Again)

Kelly just loves to stand up. Here, she had just pulled herself up in the crib. (Sometimes, she'll even dance!)

Work Play Group

All the new babies from my work got together at the park on Sunday. It was fun to see all the babies we've heard so much about. Mimi was kind enough to send us the pictures that she took (THANK YOU!). A nice picture of our whole family (these are very few and far between!):
Caroline (6.5 months) came late and unfortunately by then Kelly was a little bit grouchy...
We're already looking forward to the next play group!

Kelly's Mom at 8 Months

I think Kelly is looking more like her daddy and resembling me a little bit less now, but you can decide for yourself...

A Boast from Grandma

Today in the supermarket, a woman passed me at the checkout counter and shouted back down the aisle to me:

"That is the cutest baby I've ever seen!"

Yummy Yogurt

Banana Yogurt: As fun to wear as it is to eat!

All By Herself

Kelly can now pull herself up to standing!

Kelly's New Best Friend

Lately Kelly and Desi have been hanging out together. She finds it hysterical when he pounces on things.

New Swing

We went to a little open house at the new development behind Grandma's house. To our delight there was a tot lot with toddler swings! Kelly had a good time, as usual.

A New Perspective on the Exersaucer

Toe-ing?

Do you think this baby is teething? That's a hand and a foot simultaneously.

Lunch at On The Border

Kelly got to use her first crayon at lunch...it seemed to taste pretty decent..

Sunday in Sterling

We went to a barbeque at Gramma Dot and Grampa's house on Sunday. Kelly got to spend some time with her Aunt Kate:

Gramma Dot hung up a remarkably safe swing for Kelly. She sure did love it!
