Baby Dolls

Kelly now has two "baby dolls" that she likes to play with. She especially likes when they sit in Daddy's lap. On this occasion, they all sat together.

By the time I readied the camera, Kelly was bored with just sitting and entertained herself by showing us the babies' eyes.

Happy 1st Birthday, Sienna!

Yesterday we went to a picnic/birthday party for Sienna and her daddy. Sienna got tired and went home to get a nap for a while, but Kelly made do with three main activities: 1) climbing on the beanbag-toss ramp, 2) playing with the ice around the keg, 3) and just strutting her stuff.

Activity 1) Beanbag toss climbing. There was another little girl there named Sofia that was just about Kelly's age and size. They had a lot of fun together!

Activity 2) Kelly kept coming back to the keg throughout the afternoon. By the time she was hanging out there with Sofia, she was an old pro and showed Sofia what to do. This is just a small sampling of the fun times she had there.

Activity 3) Wandering back and forth around the picnic site.

The birthday girl and boy!

Even though it was a long afternoon, Kelly was very well behaved through the whole thing.
By the end, we were ready to head out and preempt a meltdown. It was no surprise that Kelly slept all the way home!

Happy Father's Day

This weekend I was shown just how much James does around the house, as he had minor surgery on Thursday and couldn't use his left (dominant) arm at all. While I had him for guidance, I was left to take care of feeding all four pets and the three of us. Not that it's really a big deal to be the sole diaper changer/baby dresser in the house for a few days, but it does make me appreciate all that he does!

While I prepared dinner on Sunday, James got tired of holding Kelly with his good arm so she could watch what I was doing, so I rigged them up in the Ergo. Sad that he's never worn it before, but I think they both loved it. Kelly so enjoyed being so close to her favorite person that she immediately looked up and kissed him.

Here's a beautiful picture from a nap from a week ago. Happy Father's Day, Daddy, and thank you for all that you do! We love you!

About To Take a Walk

Kelly always tries to help get ready for walks by grabbing Logan's collar and leash and helping us put them on him. On Saturday she took it a step further...

"Mommy, I want to walk Logan!"

"Alright already, enough pictures. Let's go!"

Two of My Favorite People

I found this picture on Kelly's mom's Facebook page, and I had to steal it.

Funny story from Grandma: On Father's Day, we also celebrated Granddad's birthday. Kelly never used to let us wipe her face, but she sweetly stood and let me wipe birthday cake off her face. Then she took the scrunched up napkin, unscrunched it, wiped her face herself, and threw the napkin away. We all applauded her efforts... so she smiled, took the napkin out of the trashcan, unscrunched it, and proceeded to wipe her face again.... scrunched it up... etc. She did it over and over. We finally had to tell her that that was enough, so she would stop performing!

Visit to the Pool

Today we took advantage of the break in the recent extreme heat and humidity to go to the neighborhood pool. Kelly had a wonderful time both in the baby pool and the big pool. Due to the many 100+ degree days we've had lately, the water was delightfully warm. We're looking forward to going back soon!

Important Business

Kelly looked like she was off to take care of some important business as she strutted around with her purse.

Nap in the Sun

I don't get to enjoy a sleeping Kelly on my lap very often any more. Daddy captured this rare treat.
I think sleep makes her look younger.

Big Eyes

A couple of nice pictures Daddy took earlier this week.
Still only two teeth on the bottom! (and only four on the top)
"What's in your mouth, Grover?"
