Big Blue Eyes

Fall is Here

Walking by the creek right behind our house and.... looking tough?

Pretty leaf.

First face painting was done at the Dumfries Fall Festival (sorry, no pictures because by the time we got there after nap time it was raining).  Kelly loves Snoopy from the Easter special that we recorded 7 months ago.  It has been watched many, many, many times.  I'm excited to share the Great Pumpkin with her tomorrow night!

Smile and Yawn

Though she's been smiling for a few weeks now, we finally caught one!

In between smiles...

Smiling for the camera is exhausting!

Family Walk

In spite of the nasty weather this morning we decided to go on a quick family walk.  It was just nice to get out after the pouring rain that we've been dealing with for the past couple of days.  So, we bundled up and piled the girls into my wonderful EasyWalker Duo double stroller.  It is the one "gear" item we purchased for Alyssa.  Alyssa stayed warm and toasty in the fabulous snowsuit that my Uncle Teddy and Aunt Paula got her.  Now that I know how comfy she is in it, I plan to go on a lot more walks soon!

Bunky

Shortly after Alyssa was born Kelly announced "I think we'll call her Bunky!" The nickname has stuck. Gradually, "Baby Sister" is being phased out (though it's still around), and "Bunky" is taking it's place. We try to throw "Alyssa" in too so it stays in the mix. With no further ado, here are some recent pictures of Bunky.

Uncle Joe

Alyssa got to hang out with Uncle Joe for a bit last weekend. They chilled out and watched some football together for a while.

One Month Old!

Yesterday I took Alyssa in for her 1 month pediatrician's visit and was shocked to find that she weighed 10 pounds 4 ounces fully clothed. The nurse agreed that means she's at least 10 pounds. I suspected a faulty scale until I realized that she weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces on the exact same scale at her 2-week checkup. Hence she has gained over two and a half pounds in just over two weeks. Wow! That means she's moved up from 42nd percentile at birth to 77th percentile. I'm just happy that she's thriving!

In other news, Alyssa has lost almost all of the hair in the front on top of her head. Think Frank from "Everybody Loves Raymond." I think it's adorable, but I'm a little biased. It will be interesting to see what the hair that grows in its place will look like. We'll take and post pictures demonstrating this phenomenon soon.
