Here We Go Again...

It's a bit early and I don't want to jinx it, but I feel pretty confident after this morning's appointment that I can make this announcement. At the end of August, Kelly will be a big sister! Please enjoy this preview of Kelly's little brother or sister.

Snow!

Yesterday we got our first snow of the season and Kelly got to play in the snow for the first time ever!

Gearing up. Those boots were a nightmare to get on!

Tasting some snow.

"Logan, Come!"

On Sunday we got to Petsmart just as the doors were opening. Because we practically had the whole store to ourselves, I let Kelly hold Logan's leash. She likes to boss him around, "Logan, come!!"

She had a little trouble keeping him from getting tangled up because she's a little shorter than he is.

Logan leads the way.

Logan stops to smell the treats. We never have to worry about him taking a free sample.

"Logan, let's go!"

Kelly and Logan have an understanding... generally he is pretty gentle around her, and she knows to immediately let go of his leash if he starts to pull her faster than she can go.

Two Years Old!

On Saturday, Kelly's birthday, we had our family over for food, cake, and fun. Kelly loved the attention.

Enjoying being sung to.

About to blow out the candles. She tried but didn't muster enough of a breeze and needed some help.

Basking in the applause.

Enjoying her cake. Daddy figured we should get chocolate-chocolate-chocolate for our chocolate lover.

Opening her presents. For the first time she actually participated and really knew what to do! It was a big improvement even over Xmas!

Playing with one of her new toys with her adoring fans.

Sampling a snack with Aunt Samantha.

New Kitchen!

On Tuesday we stashed Kelly at my parents' house so that we could assemble her first birthday present, a new kitchen from Gramma Dot. Needless to say, she was thrilled with it.

She likes to say "New Kitchen. Kelly's. Grandma did it." Though I don't know which Grandma she's referring to because we explained that Gramma Dot got her the kitchen and Grandma got all of the accoutrements (the food, dishes, and cooking implements).

Homemade Hat

Kelly finally got to wear the hat that I knitted for her while I was pregnant! I had completely forgotten about it until it fell out of the closet onto us when I was hunting for gloves. Kelly likes it and we call it her "soft hat" because it's very soft and fuzzy.

Pigtails again!

Kelly showing off her pigtails. They're much longer now, but just as hard to put in!

Gramma Dot decorated her like a Christmas tree...

Sweetheart

More Bode Playdate

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. It's taken a little while to get these pictures together and sorted.

Charlotte, the only 2 year old at the get together. She took it all in stride. Charlotte is going to be a big sister soon!!!

Kelly's vacuum cleaner was a big hit. Who would have thought that cleaning equipment would be so much fun? That's Aiden and Ryan manning the vacuum, and Charlotte in the background with one of Kelly's "babies."

Meanwhile, Davi was enjoying our jungle gym, I mean Logan.

Kelly surveying the scene.

It was so nice seeing my old friends and letting them partake of our toy-filled home. :)

Kelly and Ryan

Today we had a play date for all my old work friends and their babies. It was cool having 5 little people all about the same size swarming around our house. Here is a classic shot of Ryan and Kelly. He climbed up into the chair with her (I think she got up there to remove her socks, or maybe that was just a spur of the moment decision) and started hugging and kissing her. It was so cute!

Dinosaur Land

Last Monday we took a very cold trip out to Dinosaur Land with our friends Evan, Anthony, Staci, and Danny. Kelly enjoyed checking out the dinosaurs, but I think we were all happy at the end to go back inside where it was warm.

Enjoying Daddy's unicorn pop while we waited in the store for our friends to arrive.

Styracosaurus.

Kelly, Anthony, and some odd prehistoric bird.

Kelly, Evan, and the "Gramma dinosaur" as Staci kept calling it. It did look kind of like a little old lady.

Triceratops.

Kelly and the boys with the giant praying mantis. It was even bigger than this one!
