Twenty Months Old!

Today Kelly turned twenty months old. It seems like such a milestone to be out of the "teen months." Anyway, she is doing very well.

Giving a doll "baby" a ride on the airplane at the Kids N Motion playdate that we attended today.

Hanging out in the Pack'n'Play yesterday with Daddy and just being generally cute.

Our Little Artist

Today James happened upon Kelly very carefully drawing something on her DoodlePro. When he asked her what it was, she told him "baby." He brought it over to me and only then did we realize that it is a pretty good approximation of a stick figure. Not only that, but the head actually resembles a face.

An hour later when asked again what this is Kelly repeated "baby."

Riding Logan

After we returned from the Outer Banks, Kelly was feeling particularly comfortable with Logan and decided to try to "ride" him. Very few of the pictures came out because she was bouncing around so much.

Kelly was still having fun, but Logan decided he'd had enough.

Other Miscellaneous Beach Pictures

Kelly's self-portrait of her feet (too cute not to post).

Swinging at a small playground in a shopping center near our beach house.

Hanging out on the couch.

Sitting on the deck with Grandma. Kelly and Grandma had a few nice conversations on the deck.

With mommy on the deck.

Looking at a bird together.

Sitting with Zoboo on my lap. I think this was when Kelly wasn't feeling very well. (We didn't have a thermometer to confirm, but Kelly felt like she had a very high fever for about 24 hours of the trip :().

Carrot Car

Kelly seems to be going through a phase where she takes everything and pushes it around while making the "vrooooom" noise. Here she did it with a carrot.
Then she realized that carrots are better for eating.

Fun with the Hose

On our last day at the beach, Kelly asked to leave the beach pretty early and we attributed it to her being sick (she was running a high fever near the end of the week). However, she then spent about an hour playing with the hose as soon as we got back to the house! Bear with us, there are a lot of pictures. This is only a fraction of what was taken!

It started with helping us fill up the dogs' water bowl...

Washing the sand off Daddy's feet...

Washing the sand off her own feet...

Attempting to drink from the hose...

Offering Ryder a drink...

Ryder declining the drink...

Washing the dog hair out of the curry comb after I bathed Logan...

Attempting to brush Ryder with the curry comb

On the Beach

Kelly had some fun playing in the sand on the beach. She got to try out her pails and shovels.
With Granddad and Shadow and Ryder...

When Kelly was ready to go back to the beach house, she let us know by heading back toward the stairs. However, she always went to the stairs just south of ours.

Taking an early morning walk with Daddy and Logan.

...and Mommy. We switched Kelly/the Ergo halfway through the walk.

Trying on Luis' Hat

Due to the passing of Tropical Storm Hanna right along our route to the beach last Saturday, we decided to wait out the storm at home and go to OBX a day late. So, that freed us up to take Luis and Isa out to celebrate Luis' birthday. Isa was kind enough to help Kelly put on Luis' hat...

...and then Kelly promptly removed it.

More Pigtails

Today I did Kelly's hair in high pigtails because the one ponytail to hold her hair out of her eyes just seemed lonely. Needless to say they were less lopsided this morning (before her nap), but I think this gives you the idea.
