I think this is the first picture of the girls together since the day they met at the hospital. Kelly was "hugging" Alyssa.

Last night Lisa and Ryan stopped by to bring us dinner and presents and Kelly got to show Ryan our new hummingbird feeder.

Kelly: "Look, Ryan, it's our new bird feeder!"

Ryan: "Up there?"

 

Kelly: "Yes, up there."

Ryan: "Cool!"

Ryan is 6 months younger than Kelly, very slightly taller (I think?), and about five pounds heavier.

Baking Brownies

Kelly loves to help out in the kitchen. Yesterday she got to help me (normally she's helping Daddy) bake brownies and enjoy licking the spoon when we were done.

More Close-ups of Alyssa

I can't get over how fast Alyssa is changing.  She weighed 8 lbs even on our home scale on Friday, up quite a bit from the 7 lbs 5 oz that she weighed at her two-week checkup on Tuesday.

First Visit to Gramma and Grampa's House

We went out to Gramma and Grampa's house yesterday to celebrate Gram's 96th birthday.

Alyssa's First Bath

I gave Alyssa her first bath last week and roped James into taking some pictures.

Alyssa was very content and seemed to really like the warm water.  When I pulled her out to dry her off, she looked so cute I told James to grab the camera again.  Unfortunately, she didn't stay content for long waiting for the camera and this is the picture he got:

 

Poor baby.  She was quickly wrapped up and dried off.

These two are inseparable these days.

Kelly Update

Kelly has been hanging in there as well as a two-and-a-half-year-old can be expected to when her whole world is turned upside down. Daddy took these pictures of her watching TV with him the other day... unfortunately, she loves to watch "The Simsims" (The Simpsons) with him. (She talks about Mrs. Simsim, Bark, and Homey.) He is careful to only put certain episodes on. I didn't really like these pictures because I think she looks sad, but that could be because she was. Fortunately she has been getting back into her napping routine lately, so things are a little happier in our house.

Initial reaction... Kelly was a little shy at first but immediately asked "Mommy, can I hold baby sister?"

Baby Sister is HERE!!

On Tuesday night we welcomed our second daughter to our family. Other than the fact that I was induced with Pitocin for low fluid levels due to being past my due date, it was a natural birth. Needless to say, I am madly in love.

Sunday Night in the Park

Sunday night we went to a pizza party in the park to celebrate my mommy group. Daddy came along and got some nice pictures of Kelly. I never expected to be there without a new baby in my arms, but sometimes things happen that we don't expect.

Rainbows

We've spotted a couple of rainbows over the past few weeks but this one was hard to miss. Kelly has since told us several times that this rainbow is no longer there, "Look, no rainbow, Mommy!" as she points up to the sky behind her friend Kayla's house.
