Trip to the ER

After Kelly starting throwing up at 3 AM on Christmas Day, and continued on an hourly basis for about 30 hours, I called the pediatrician to see if they thought she should come in. After I answered a few questions, they promptly sent me to the emergency room. Due to her obvious dehydration, I figured I'd better obey.

She was very lethargic. Here she is waiting for the doctor to see us. It's probably a good thing they couldn't get an IV started because the little bit of anti-nausea medication they gave her did the trick.
Finally a quarter-smile after days of being miserable!
Discharged and ready to go home. Fortunately Kelly was much better today (she only threw up once since we went home). Unfortunately I was the next to succumb to the bug, then Granddaddy, then Daddy. I just hope we're all much better by the weekend!

Kelly Hosts her First Playdates

On Thursday night Kayla and April came over to our house. Kayla ran around and showed Kelly some new tricks. She was 1 year old last week!

Then on Saturday Tim, Lisa, and Ryan came over. Kelly was so sweet with Ryan. It's amazing that he's less than half her age!
Checking out the bottom of a toy... Funny how the wrong side is always more interesting.

Kelly + Logan

We haven't had a picture of Kelly and Logan together in a while. This one is a pretty typical pose :) She kind of pets/plays him like a drum.

Kelly Loves Balloons

Kelly was admiring the mylar balloons in the grocery store so we got her one. The cats love them too (note Jake in the corner).

My Big Girl

Today was a day of cancelled plans. Because Kelly and her Daddy were both under the weather with colds, we missed a "Breakfast with Santa" with Grandpa's work and our neighbor's first birthday party. :( I was so looking forward to dressing Kelly in her party outfit that I did it anyway, even just for lunch at Five Guys and a brief shopping excursion. You can see where we went from the pics... I hadn't been there in ages and wanted to check out the baby section. Needless to say I was not impressed. I was so taken with how grownup and cute she looked in the cart that I had to take some pictures.

Faux-hawk

Because Kelly was a bit sniffly this week we've been giving her lots of vapor baths to make her feel better. You can see they are quite therapeutic. :)

Happy Hanukkah!

Kelly is enjoying her first Hanukkah.

First we lit the menorah. Kelly was fascinated by the candles.

Then Kelly got her first present. We pushed her around on it but she is a little too small to ride it herself (both feet don't reach the floor!). Her favorite part was walking/running around the entire first floor pushing it. We had no idea she had such skills!

Finally meeting Ryan!

On Sunday, we dropped in on Tim and Lisa and Ryan. We're so glad to have them back in Virginia! Kelly sort of met Ryan before, back in June, but that wasn't as exciting as today.

Close-up.... Too bad Kelly was about to clobber him. ;)

Ryan wondering when he'll be about to do that.

Telling Kelly a story.

I can't believe Ryan isn't even 4 months old -- he was so interactive and alert. Such a cutie!

Power Nap

In the midst of running around on Sunday, Daddy and Kelly snuck in a five minute nap while I was getting ready to head to our next destination.

Overexposed

I can't help it, I love this picture. Even though it's overexposed, I think it looks really cool.

Visit with Gramma Dot

Kelly got to spend some time at Gramma Dot's house today while I ran some errands. I think they both loved it. We'll have to do it again soon!

Enjoying Aunt Kate's old rocking horse.

Yummy...Cheerios....

This is fun! And it's not even Christmas yet!

Gymboree II

In these pictures, Kelly looks like she is all alone. That's because she was there with Grandma, and Grandma had to jump up to take pictures. Thus, we also missed photographing some fun activities that Grandma participated in. We do not plan to do this again (except in music class, next week). We hope to get some nice pictures in music.
