Today I opened up the tent that Grandma got Kelly for when we go to the beach next month. She thought it was a fun new toy ;)

The other day I was sitting on the floor next to Kelly when she
scurried past me and abruptly stopped. I turned to find her
frantically gnawing on Logan's pacifier-shaped chew toy. Funny that
she doesn't have any interest in the real thing, but this one was a
big hit.

Today I went to lunch with some girlfriends and Kelly stayed home with
her daddy. Unfortunately, she was grouchy until I got back. Finally... a
smile!

Charlotte's Birthday Party!

Kelly went to her first party today. She was so excited to celebrate her friend Charlotte's first birthday. There she got to play with other babies for pretty much the first time. I couldn't resist snapping lots of pictures of her with Evie, who is a New Year's Day baby, making her about 3 weeks older than Kelly. They looked so cute together in their party dresses.

The birthday girl was incredibly gracious with sharing her toys with all the other children. She didn't shed a single tear during the entire celebration.

First Spoon Feeding

On Wednesday night Kelly tried rice cereal for the first time ever. The first thing she did was rip her bib off. She actually did pretty well and seemed to have a pretty good understanding about what to do with the spoon.

6 Month Check-Up Stats

Kelly went to the doctor today and got her last shots for 6 months! She was quite brave and only cried a little bit. Dr. Caplan was again impressed with her strength and skills. She weighed 17 lbs 6 ozs and measured 26.25 in., putting her in the 75th percentile for both weight and height! Pretty good for 100% breastfed! That will be changing soon though, since Kelly has reached the age where she must learn to eat real food. Hopefully, she will do better than she did with the pre-shot infant Tylenol that I tried to give her this morning -- she managed to spit it all back up at me. Sigh.
