Meeting Alyssa for the first time.
He said of his youngest grandchild that she was "the happiest baby" he ever met and that she was a "very handsome baby." I'll never forget how Alyssa's smiles could light him up, even on his bad days. While it breaks my heart that Alyssa is too young to remember him, I am consoled that Kelly probably will. They had a very special relationship. Fortunately he got to see both of his youngest grandchildren quite often. My father will be sorely missed.

Granddaddy had a special knack with babies and little kids. He understood them perfectly. They had a mutual admiration society.
