In the past week, Kelly has made several huge developmental strides. The first was last Friday when she decided that she was ready to finish with toilet training. Without getting into the details, I will say this has been a massive issue (I won't say battle because we REALLY tried not to push!) for us that has been going on since last Fall. Needless to say, this is an incredible relief for me. Of course, as soon as she did it the first time, she's done it every day. She just needed to get over the first-time hurdle.
Another surprise accomplishment for Kelly that I didn't expect is that she decided she was ready to sleep in her room by herself. She has always coslept with me and while I have felt for a little while that she was ready to move to her own room, I wasn't going to push that until the toilet training situation was resolved. One change at a time was what I figured. Amazingly, Kelly made the choice completely on her own right after she decided she was ready to finish toilet training.
Finally, a fun new skill that Kelly demonstrated is swinging (and pumping) on a "big kid" swing. She had done it a bit before, but when we were at the playground this week she really had it down. I'm so impressed by how much she's grown up just in the past week!!
Some pictures from that day at the Marine Corps Museum playground (thanks Staci!):
Everyone on the swings.
Alyssa had her own accomplishments this week, eating more and more solids (and successfully feeding herself some of them!) and learning how to drink from a straw. I'm so proud of my girls!!!

Kelly pumping to swing herself is amazing at her age (I think). I'm so impressed!
